Ingredients

5 ounces extra-lean (92% lean) ground beef

3/4 tsp soy sauce

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp avocado oil or olive oil

1 lettuce leaf

1 thick slice of beefsteak tomato or other large tomato

1 thin slice red onion

1 dill pickle

Preparation

Place the beef in a small bowl and sprinkle with the soy sauce, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a rubber spatula just untill combined. Form into a ball, then flatten into a patty a little more thann 4 inches in diameter and about 3/4 inch thick.

Heat the oil in a small nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the patty and cook untill browned and cooked to desired doneness, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium.

Pile the lettuce, tomato, and onion on a plate and top with the burger. Serve with the pickle.

*We surround this burger with some classic extras so you won't miss the bun! The tomato, onion, and pickle equal about 1/2 cup of select vegetables. (And remember that all vegetables are measured before cooking.) *
